Billy Mitchell delighted to sign new long-term contract with Millwall

Billy Mitchell has signed a new long-term contract at Millwall.

The 20-year-old midfielder has made 23 senior appearances for his boyhood club – and it would have been more but for a lengthy spell on the sidelines this season with a hamstring injury.

Mitchell told the club’s website: “I’m absolutely delighted.

“There was a point when I had my second injury that I was thinking maybe about just getting myself right through the summer and starting again next season. But thanks to the sports science and physiotherapy we’ve been able to get back on track.

“I’m only hopefully going to progress from here on in. I treasure every single game. That feeling of pulling on a Millwall shirt doesn’t get old. I’m able to enjoy it now, when you start doing it then it is a very daunting experience.”
