Beloved pet cat found dead near where a cat and kitten were shot with airgun pellets

The RSPCA is appealing for information after a beloved cat was found dead in suspicious circumstances, near where two were also shot with airgun pellets.
Eight-year-old Leo’s body was discovered by members of the public who reported it to their owner who had been desperately looking for him.
He was found in a field near to Ernest Close, Beckenham, Bromley on Tuesday, March 2.
Ani Powell, 29 from Holmsdale Grove in nearby Barnhurst found her two year-old cat dead in the garden with a bullet-like wound on her side, – and only two weeks later found her kitten profusely bleeding with the same injury.
The five-month-old had to be put down as a result of its injuries.
RSPCA Deputy Chief Inspector Natasha Wallis is investigating and said: “Leo was last seen on Sunday 28 February and his body, which had a number of cuts to it, was found on the Tuesday.
“The area isn’t far from where he lived and he was found in a field, we are therefore appealing to anyone who may have seen anyone acting suspiciously in the area.
“We would therefore urge anyone with information to call me in confidence on the RSPCA Inspector Line 0300 123 8018.”
Leo’s family said they have sadly been told about other cats in the area who have been reported missing so they wanted to let other owners in the area know what happened to Leo.
They are now also appealing for the public’s help in finding out what happened to him.
