Fulham skipper Joachim Andersen: Goals we conceded at Chelsea were too easy

Fulham captain Joachim Andersen was disappointed with the defending for both of Chelsea’s goals.

The 2-0 loss at Stamford Bridge leaves the Whites 18th in the Premier League standings, nine points off safety with just four games remaining.

Andersen said: “We knew today was going to be difficult, obviously we are in a position where we need three points, so of course we are disappointed.

“The goals we gave away were too easy. There were too many small mistakes, so if we do that, we cannot win, especially not against Chelsea.

“We started the game really well, we did what we had spoken about and we knew they were capable of making some mistakes and we won the ball a couple of times [early on].

“Their first goal, was such a simple goal and that wasn’t good enough. I don’t know, I haven’t seen it back but in the game it felt too easy for them.

“It can still be done [Fulham staying up]. It’s football, we still have four games and we need to win those games so we need to believe in it until it’s over.

“I believe we can do it and the whole team needs to believe in it, but of course it’s difficult when we don’t get the points.”
