Millwall boss gives verdict on whether double loan exit is possible

BY ALEX GRACE

Millwall boss Gary Rowett has said he is “open minded” about the possibility of sending both Tyler Burey and Hayden Muller out on loan next season.

Both have been breakthrough talents for the Lions but neither are yet ready to be first-team regulars.

Asked about the possibility of loan deals for the duo, Rowett replied: “It will depend on how they come back in pre-season but there’s that debate that they need 20 games in mens’ football to see how they can develop.”

Danny McNamara started this season on loan with Rowett’s former assistant Callum Davidson’s St Johnstone but was named Millwall’s Young Player of the Year after making 17 appearances since he was recalled.

“We saw it with Danny at St Johnstone, so we will see if we can get that opportunity with them,” said Rowett. “We are open minded and if they do really well, they come back and give us food for thought, but we will see how they come back pre-season.”
