Healthcare support team aims to raise money for hospital charity by running the London marathon

A healthcare support team is pulling together to raise money for a hospital charity by running a London marathon in August.
A team of King’s Facilities Management (KFM) will run in the London Landmarks Half Marathon (LLHM) to support King’s College Hospital Charity, who are dedicated to supporting life-changing care for patients.
The team of six members will be running the 21km through the City of London and City of Westminster’s best landmarks on August 1.
They have already raised £740 of a £2,100 target via a justgiving crowdfunding page, although there are still four months for the marathon to go.
The money they will collect will go to fund King’s College Hospital’s projects which support patient care and life saving research for the charity.
KFM robotic process automation lead Sam Proposch, 36, said: “It’s great to be supporting a charity that enables developments that go above and beyond what the NHS provides.”
KFM supply chain manager Gavin Pettitt, 54, said: “I’m running to support a great cause for a great NHS hospital.”
KFM category manager Amy Davies, 29, said: “We are running for a really good cause that makes a difference to patients and their families.”
KFM director of managed services Jo Jones, 47, said: “It’s great to be able to support King’s charity and give something back to the NHS who have had a tough time. It’s also a good way to get to know other colleagues in KFM.”
KFM financial controller Henry Essilfie, 53, said: “Participating in the marathon is going to raise money for an incredible NHS charity and it’s important to support the NHS who have done so much during the Covid-19 pandemic.”
KFM head of human resources Robin Marsden-Knight, 34, said: “This is a great opportunity to raise money for an amazing charity.”
KFM provides a range of fully managed support services across all clinical areas including maintenance equipment, training and technical support, supply chain, procurement and outpatient pharmacy.
The LLHM will use a route which will be adorned with route attractions, a wide range of music performances and a mix of dance shows.
The race will start by The Strand and will finish by Downing Street going past London’s most iconic landmarks including Big Ben, St Paul’s Cathedral, Nelson’s Column, the Shard among others.
