Crystal Palace fans won’t be able to attend Walsall friendly on July 17

Crystal Palace will play a pre-season friendly at Walsall’s Banks’ Stadium on July 17 (1pm kick off).

West Midlands Police have decided that no away fans will be permitted in order to reduce the spread of the Covid-19 but a crowd of 2,500 fans will be able to attend.

Palace last visited the Saddlers seven years ago in the League Cup, where a Dwight Gayle hat-trick saw them progress to the third round.

The Eagles will kick off their pre-season campaign when they face Portsmouth in a behind closed doors fixture at St George’s Park on Friday, July 16 (midday kick off).

A Crystal Palace XI will travel to to Stevenage on July 23 (7pm kick off), before they host South London rivals Charlton Athletic at Selhurst Park on July 27 (7pm kick off).
