Dulwich Hamlet appoint former England international Peter Crouch as a director
Former England international Peter Crouch has been appointed to Dulwich Hamlet’s board.
The National League South club broke the news last night. The 40-year-old was at Champion Hill and met supporters.
He said: “Any help I can be, I will be. I want to let you know I’m taking this seriously. This is people’s lives and people’s livelihoods.
“I’m not here to mess about. I’m here to enjoy myself, definitely, but I’m here to hopefully make an impact. Hopefully you can get behind that as well.”
Crouch made his professional debut at the age of 17 for Dulwich, then in the Isthmian League Premier Division. Parent club Tottenham sending him out to gain experience of men’s football.
He went on to play for QPR, Portsmouth, Aston Villa, Southampton, Liverpool, Stoke City and Burnley – netting 205 times in 735 appearances.
Crouch also scored 22 goals in 42 matches for his country.
