Fulham keen on Swansea boss Steve Cooper – with Scott Parker set to take key backroom staff to AFC Bournemouth

Fulham are keen on making Steve Cooper their new manager, with Scott Parker set to take a number of his backroom staff with him to AFC Bournemouth.

Parker wants to quit the west London club and there were claims that there had been a breakthrough in talks earlier in the week.

The South London Press has been told that the former Charlton midfielder will also ensure a number of his key men move with him to the Cherries.

Crystal Palace have also contemplated Cooper, under contract at Swansea, as an option to replace Roy Hodgson, who stepped down in May.

He had been ruled out of the process as the Eagles pursued other options but they have since seen talks collapse for Nuno Espirito Santo and then Lucien Favre.

Jonathan Woodgate confirmed on his Instagram page that he is leaving AFC Bournemouth at the end of this month, paving the way for Parker to take charge.

“It was a real experience for me personally and I can’t thank the staff who were absolutely incredible and the people of the town enough for the support they gave me,” said Woodgate.

“I’d also like to thank the players for all their hard work. They were a great group to work with and it was gutting how the season ended for us all. They deserved better than how it ended at Brentford.
