Charlton keeper Maynard-Brewer makes Australia’s Olympics squad

Charlton goalkeeper Ashley Maynard-Brewer has made Australia’s squad for this summer’s Tokyo Olympics.

Graham Arnold has named an 18-man squad for their first Games since Beijing in 2008.

The Socceroos qualified for the Olympics in January 2020 after they beat Uzbekistan in a play-off.

Maynard-Brewer is expected to be loaned out by the Addicks this season to gain first-team experience.

Charlton have brought in a new number one – Craig MacGillivray – and that will pave the way for him to make a temporary exit.

Zheng Zhi is the only player to have played at the Olympics while on Charlton’s books. He represented China at the 2008 Games.
