Patrick Vieira does nothing to dispel Crystal Palace boss talk

Patrick Vieira has remained tight-lipped when asked about the Crystal Palace managerial role.

The Eagles have reportedly agreed a deal in principle with Vieira to take over as the South London club’s new manager.

Speaking to beIN Sports, Vieira said: “You must always remain careful about what you hear and say because as long as nothing is signed anything can happen.”

The Frenchman was brought to the Premier League by Arsène Wenger in 1996, and went on to make 279 appearances and scored 29 goals for the Gunners.

Wenger said: “It would be great [if Vieira becomes the new Crystal Palace manager.]

“First of all he would be a great asset for Crystal Palace and I also think he’s left such a mark on the Premier League’s pitch.

“I would now like to see him leave a mark on the outside of the pitch.”
