Tennis: Catford Wanderers beat Bexley to stay in title mix

Catford Wanderers’ men enjoyed a comfortable 4.5-1.5 win over Bexley’s second string to keep them in the running for the league title.

Sean Harvey and Ryan Morris overcame the visitors’ Jason Robinson and Andy Stewart 6-3 6-3 after earlier shared sets with Dave Thompson and Steve Seffens.

It was a similar story for Wanderers’ second pair of Lyndon Douglas and Matt Mclune, who saw off Chris Brouer and Marcus Tedjedor 7-5 6-3 and they also shared sets (4-6 7-5) with Thompson and Seffens.

The third Catford pairing of Julian Langley and Leigh Cole played their part with a draw and a win to see the side pick up two valuable points.

The club’s mixed team beat Wickham Park.
