Illness forces Jayden Stockley to miss Charlton’s pre-season friendly at Reading

Jayden Stockley is missing from Charlton Athletic’s squad for their pre-season friendly at Reading this afternoon.

The Addicks confirmed that the centre-forward was unavailable due to illness.

But midfielder Sean Clare, signed for an undisclosed fee from Oxford United earlier this week, starts for Nigel Adkins’ side at the Select Car Leasing Stadium.

And centre-back Ryan Inniss gains his first minutes as he starts alongside Akin Famewo in the middle of the Charlton backline. Chris Gunter, afforded a later return due to his involvement with Wales at the European Championships, is on the bench.

Madger Gomes, most recently on the books of Doncaster Rovers, is on trial and named as a substitute.
