Fulham head coach answers questions over whether he will be happy with loan additions in summer transfer window

Head coach Marco Silva is hoping that Fulham can make permanent signings this summer – but also says that a “really difficult market” means that loans also need to be an option.

The Whites made their first additions of the window recently, bringing in Liverpool attacker Harry Wilson and goalkeeper Paulo Gazzaniga, who was unattached after leaving Tottenham.

Asked about whether Silva would look to avoid temporary deals, he replied: “The market is really, really difficult – really tough for all the clubs. Sometimes you have to attack the market in the way you can attack the market.

“We signed the two players on long-term contracts, and not just for one season. That answers about the first two signings we did. Let’s see if we can do the same in the future.

“I don’t want to talk about what positions we are looking for. We know what we want. The club know what is my idea and what we’re trying to do now – everything is on the table. They are trying to do their best. I’m here every single day with Alastair [Mackintosh] and in contact with Tony [Khan] as well.

“We are looking to add some quality players to get our squad in more condition as well.”
