He then signed a permanent deal in January 2020 – by which time Gary Rowett was in The Den’s hotseat.

He is nearing 100 apperances for the SE16 outfit – he has made 98 appearances for them, out of a total of 420 in his career.

He was Millwall Player of the Year for both 2019-20 and 2020-21. he also won the Championship’s Golden Glove in 2020.

Rowett said: “He has probably been our most consistent player over the last two years. He is a top player in the Championship.

“The lads love him – and he is a really good character in the dressing room.

“He is now coming to those experienced years as a keeper, when you know your game and what it’s all about. He has been a terrific player for us. So we want to make sure he is here longer.”
