Portsmouth linked with loan move for Millwall defender Mahlon Romeo

Mahlon Romeo has reportedly emerged as a transfer target for Portsmouth.
The 25-year-old has made 221 appearances and scored two goals for the Lions during a six-year stay at The Den but is absent from today’s squad for their home Championship game against Blackpool.
The Portsmouth News are reporting that Danny Cowley is keen to explore a loan opportunity for the right-back before the window closes on Tuesday evening.
They addsthat Romeo has been earmarked as a potential replacement for Callum Johnson at the back, following his loan departure for Fleetwood Town yesterday.
Cowley is reportedly looking for a right-sided centre-back but that is proving tougher than anticipated, and now could opt for Romeo, who filled in at centre-back for Gary Rowett’s side a couple times last season.
Romeo has made 12 appearances for Antigua & Barbuda.
