Two Drifters help save the planet whilst producing delicious rum

Sustainability in all things, that’s the message coming over loudly and clearly.
Sweet relief therefore that drinking rum, while keeping an eye on a greener plant is actually possible.
Two Drifters have rebranded with new eye-catching designs, and increased its sustainability to support its eco credentials as the world’s most sustainable rum brand.
In addition to carbon negative production, the new bottles feature a natural cork with FSC wooden top, 100 per cent compostable tamper seal, paper labels made from 95 per cent sugarcane fibre and 5 per cent hemp and linen with a plant-based adhesive.
The four-strong range can be enjoyed simply over ice, or used as a base for a number of cocktails.
A customer favourite is the deliciously different Overproof Spiced Pineapple Rum, think rich and fruity with irresistible notes of ripe pineapple, salted caramel and creme brûlée.
The equally popular Lightly Spiced Rum, a warming and aromatic spirit boasting notes of vanilla, chai tea, toffee apple and delicate clove.
Signature Rum, is full-bodied and buttery with rich notes of treacle, toffee, ginger and Muscovado sugar, and Pure White Rum, crisp has clean with fresh notes of vanilla, apple, white pepper and lime zest.
Since inception two years ago, Two Drifters has received an overwhelming response for their British rum – made and bottled in Devon – producing over 2,000 bottles per week.
To date Two Drifters Distillery has avoided a whopping 35.29 tonnes of CO2, while removing a hefty 16.72 tonnes.
Most of the effort that goes into achieving a carbon negative footprint is actually the avoidance, rather than removal.
Removal is expensive, so it’s better to avoid creating it in the first place and remove what can’t be avoided (e.g. CO2 from suppliers).
