Millwall boss: No need for us to take selection risks for Luton match

Millwall manager Gary Rowett will take no risks with the fitness of Scott Malone or George Saville for tomorrow’s home game against Luton Town.

Midfielder Saville missed Northern Ireland’s 2-1 defeat in Bulgaria on Wednesday due to a knee complaint.

Malone, pictured left, suffered a quad injury in the 1-0 win over Bristol City shortly before the international break.

“When Scottie went down it looked like he’d probably be out for the best part of a month to six weeks,” said Rowett. “We’re thankful it wasn’t more serious.

“We’re not in a position now where we have to throw people in before they are ready, or throw them in because we haven’t got another player in that position.

“The whole point of having a squad is that you can make good decisions on players who are ready and raring to go with no issues, to select a really healthy 11. That’s the challenge.”
