Millwall man to miss Stoke City match as boss puzzled by decision-making
George Saville will miss Millwall’s home game against Stoke City after picking up his fifth caution of the campaign in Tuesday’s 2-1 win at Sheffield United.
Blades manager Slavisa Jokanovic felt the midfielder should have been red carded by referee Matt Donohue after a foul on John Fleck.
“I did not understand how he interpreted it [with Saville] and I asked him [the ref] why he took the decision,” said Jokanovic.
“We asked and the referee said the defender was close to the situation but this is not true – he was 20 yards away I didn’t understand his interpretation.
“If I talk about the referee, I don’t feel comfortable as he tried all the time to not allow physical challenges, but if you show no fair play, you get yellow. But why don’t you follow the same rules with a foul when it’s a clever foul and cynical?”
