Fulham smash Blackburn with Bournemouth defeat making it is a perfect Wednesday night of Championship action

Fulham made it five league wins in a row for the first time since 2018 as they dished out a brutal 7-0 drubbing of Blackburn Rovers on Wednesday.

The scoring prowess of Marco Silva’s side is underlined by the fact they already have a plus-29 goal difference after just 16 matches.

And the Whites have scored 43 times with Aleksandar Mitrovic on 19 for the campaign after heading in their second at Ewood Park.

Jean Paul van Hecke’s dismissal after 30 minutes gave the hosts a thankless task. Neeskens Kebano, Harry Wilson and Rodrigo Muniz all helped themselves to braces.

Next up tomorrow is a Peterborough side with the worst defensive record in the Championship.

Wilson said: “We’re going on the pitch confident and we showed that [at Blackburn]. The early goal set us on our way and then we got a second not long afterwards. When they go a player down we were on each other to keep moving the ball, the gaps will appear and we’ve got to take full advantage. We did that.

“It helps that Mitro is scoring every game. For those beside and behind him we’ve got to make sure we’re chipping in. Seeing Rodrigo come on and score twice shows we’ve got goals through the team. We need to finish this spell of the season off well before going into the next international break. Once we get back it’s up to us to keep this momentum going.”

Fulham are only two points behind Bournemouth after they lost 2-1 at home to Preston.
