Animals at the London Aquarium join in the festive fun in the run-up to Christmas

Residents of the London Aquarium are getting into the fish-mas spirit this December, with festive food, hats and toys.

Sea turtles enjoyed their first taste of Christmas dinner with a dinner of brussel sprouts while the penguins had their own festive dessert.

Aquarists were on hand to give out a frozen Christmas cake made of ice and decorated with sprat in the shape of a Christmas tree.

Further fun was had by the cheeky octopus, who enjoyed two new toys in the shape of Christmas crackers ahead of the big day.

The octopus, who recently joined the attraction, is often given new toys to play with to keep her stimulated.

It loves to solve puzzles and play with a wide variety of items.

Some of the Aquarium’s smallest residents, the sea urchins, donned equally tiny Santa and elf hats with the help of a specially trained diver.
