Millwall’s match against Preston off after multiple positive Covid-19 cases in Lions camp
Millwall’s home game against Preston North End on Saturday has been postponed due to a “significant” number of positive Covid-19 cases in the Lions camp.
The South London club have revealed it has affected their playing squad and support staff.
“At present only a minority of those who have returned positive test results are experiencing any sort of symptoms and they are very mild at worst,” said Millwall in a statement on their official website.
“The decision to postpone has been made following extensive dialogue with the EFL, Public Health England and the club’s safety advisory group.
“A new date for the match will be announced when confirmed. Tickets already purchased for Saturday’s game will be valid for the rearranged date but should you require a refund then please email ticketadmin@millwallplc.com with proof of purchase and staff will assist accordingly.”
Preston published a similar statement on their official website and added: “Everyone at PNE would like to wish those affected a full and quick recovery.”
