Two senior Millwall players set to be available for Bristol City match
George Evans and Ben Thompson should both be back in contention for Millwall’s Championship match at Bristol City on Sunday.
The Lions had 14 senior professionals available for the 1-0 win over Coventry last night due to Covid-19 cases and injuries.
But Millwall manager Gary Rowett is expecting a couple more players who were isolating to return to the squad for this weekend.
“George and Thommo are probably the only two who will come back in,” he said. “It is good because we have only got two fit midfielders in the whole club – we’ve not even got an U23 midfielder available.
“I don’t think Jed [Wallace] will be back for then. He’s still struggling a bit with his quad.
“Muzza had cramp. I kept Benik and Smudge on the behc, I felt I needed some energy off the bench late on.
“With those two coming back it allows two others to have a little breather. We have got to wrap the players in cotton wool. If they get through this little period they will be fine.”
