60,000 daffodil bulbs planted across Bexley ahead of spring

More than 60,000 daffodil bulbs have been planted across a borough this month.

Bexley council’s cabinet member for places, Cllr Peter Craske joined the council’s grounds maintenance contractor, Tivoli, planting the final batch of bulbs along Queens Road, Erith on January 20.

Cllr Craske said: “This brilliant project, that will benefit all areas of the borough, will brighten up our roadsides, verges and open spaces.

“We have been working closely with Tivoli to improve our public areas and this is a great start to those improvements and to the new year.”

Neil Simpson, Director of Operations at Tivoli said: “Daffodils are often one of the most welcoming signs of spring, so we hope this project brings joy to local communities as they start to bloom.

“We are very proud of our working partnership with the London Borough of Bexley and are committed to delivering an excellent grounds maintenance service.”
