Dulwich Runners finish seventh at cross country championships

Dulwich Runners finished seventh at the Southern England Cross Country Championship at Beckenham Place Park on Saturday, writes Jonathan Whittaker.

Training partners Ed Chuck and Jack Ramm ran closely for much of the race before Chuck pulled away to take 25th place in 50:03. Ramm recorded 50:28 on the 15km course for 32nd spot.

Ben Howe built on his recent excellent performance in the Kent County Cross Country Championships to finish 84th (53:25).

Rob Armstrong continued his promising debut season (111th in 54:27) with Andy Bond (136th in 55:13) and Tim Bowen (140th in 55:18) fighting it out on the final lap to complete the team scoring.

Dulwich’s women were 16th out of 40 complete teams.

Clare Elms led the team home in 48th place, covering the 8km course in 32:31. Rebecca Schulleri (107th in 34:50) and Alicja Furmanczyk (144th in 36:11) and Andrea Pickup (160th in 37:04) completed the team scoring.

There were club cross country debuts from Olivia Bishton (185th), Naomi Crowther (244th) and Rebecca Davis (296th).
