Volunteer for London Borough of Culture 2022!

Volunteer for London Borough of Culture 2022!

As the official volunteering partner for Lewisham’s London Borough of Culture, Lewisham Local are recruiting volunteers to get involved in this special year-long celebration.

Lewisham Local connects the community to promote giving and sharing in the borough.

Their vision for a thriving Lewisham, where people have a sense of identity and pride about the borough, and their local neighbourhood, underpins their London Borough of Culture volunteering programme.

Dee Saund, Volunteering Programme Manager at Lewisham Local says, “Our ethos is very much about everyone having something to offer, no matter what their skills, experience or background.

We value everyone’s time and skills equally and, there is no better way to strengthen our community than getting involved during London Borough of Culture.

The impact of volunteering has consistently shown to have a positive effect on individuals including improved health and wellbeing, personal growth, employability, and a richer social life.

Our programme aims to do just that, and we want everyone to feel welcomed to join.

Whether you have volunteered before or this will be the first time, we will equip everyone with the tools to get involved during this exciting time.”

There will be lots of opportunities to choose from over the year and, if you are over sixteen and want to volunteer, there is something for everyone.

Everyone at the South London Press thanks you for your continued support.

Former Housing Secretary Robert Jenrick has encouraged everyone in the country who can afford to do so to buy a newspaper, and told the Downing Street press briefing:

“A FREE COUNTRY NEEDS A FREE PRESS, AND THE NEWSPAPERS OF OUR COUNTRY ARE UNDER SIGNIFICANT FINANCIAL PRESSURE”

If you can afford to do so, we would be so grateful if you can make a donation which will allow us to continue to bring stories to you, both in print and online. Or please make cheques payable to “MSI Media Limited” and send by post to South London Press, Unit 112, 160 Bromley Road, Catford, London SE6 2NZ
