Non-league round-up: McQueen goal extends Hamlet’s unbeaten run as Fisher draw in SCEFL action

Dulwich Hamlet extended their unbeaten run in National League South to three matches after a 1-0 home win against Braintree on Saturday.

Darren McQueen’s first goal since early December clinched maximum points in front of a 2,705-strong crowd at Champion Hill and kept the South Londoners on course for a play-off finish.

McQueen rolled his marker and smashed the ball past Braintree keeper Billy Johnson in the 28th minute, with a strong run down the left wing prior to that from Tyrone Sterling.

Giovanni McGregor saw a long-distance effort strike a defender and loop just over the crossbar. The former Crystal Palace player spurned a glorious chance to make it 2-0 on 68 minutes, scooping over from six yards out.

The visitors saw Alfie Payne dismissed in the closing stages for a second bookable offence.
Fisher drew 2-2 with Sheppey United in the SCEFL Premier Division on Tuesday night.

Sam Fitzgerald scored twice for the Fish, initially putting them ahead in the 43rd minute and then levelling matters after Danny Divine and Billy Bennett netted in quick succession after the restart.

Bromley have dropped out of the National League play-off places after a fixture-free weekend.

Notts County’s 2-0 win at Woking saw them claim sixth spot but Andy Woodman’s side will go back ahead if they win their fixture in hand.

Cray Wanderers are still in drop danger in the Isthmian League Premier Division and drew 2-2 at Horsham on Saturday.

Chris Dickson had put them into a 13th-minute lead in West Sussex but they required a 65th-minute goal from Cameron Brodie to salvage a share of the spoils.
