New job centre opens in Stockwell

A new temporary Jobcentre in Clapham Place, Lambeth, officially opened its doors last week [March 23], giving jobseekers more access to support and the latest opportunities.

Clapham Place Jobcentre is in Clapham Road only five minutes walk from Stockwell underground station.

The Jobcentre will welcome all customers over the age of 25 to encourage and support them back into sustainable employment or draw them closer to the job market.

Work Coaches at the new site in Lambeth will support people currently out of work into jobs as part of the ‘Way to Work’ campaign.

The Jobcentre has 40 Work Coaches, some of whom joined the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) as part of the successful recruitment drive to hire 13,500 new Work Coaches across the country.

Each new Work Coach will help local people looking for work in Lambeth with one-on-one tailored support to find their next role.

“A FREE COUNTRY NEEDS A FREE PRESS, AND THE NEWSPAPERS OF OUR COUNTRY ARE UNDER SIGNIFICANT FINANCIAL PRESSURE”

If you can afford to do so, we would be so grateful if you can make a donation which will allow us to continue to bring stories to you, both in print and online.
