Teen stabbed to death found in Lambeth

A murder investigation has been launched after a fatal stabbing in Lambeth.

Police were called at around 6:55pm on Wednesday, July 25 to reports of a man found stabbed in Denmark Road.

Officers and paramedics arrived to find an 18-year-old man suffering from stab injuries. He was taken to a South London hospital and was pronounced dead at 12:22am today, Thursday, July 26.

Formal identification awaits. His next of kin have been informed.

A post-mortem examination will be held in due course.

Initial enquires have established that the victim was on a moped with someone else who left him at the scene and drove off. Members of the public immediately came to the victim’s aid, administering first aid prior to the arrival of the emergency services.

The Homicide and Major Crime Command have opened an investigation led by Detective Chief Inspector Simon Harding.

There have been no arrests and enquiries continue.

DCI Harding, said: “This is a tragic incident which has resulted in yet another young person being fatally stabbed in London. We are appealing for anyone with information to come forward, we need to trace the moped and also the person who brought the victim to the scene, it’s important we establish where the victim initially received his injuries. Anyone who saw the moped make off from the scene we equally need to hear from them.”
