Theatre company’s twist on the tale of St George
Families and visitors gathered at Borough Market’s Green Market and Market Hall to see street theatre performances in celebration of St George’s Day.
Southwark-based theatre group the Lions part theatre company performed The Ballad of St George and the Dragon, a hilarious twist on the classic tale where St George is cast not as a gallant hero, but a flawed and hapless knight, on Sunday – the day after St George’s Day.
The Lions part are a group of professional actors who met working at the Original Shakespeare Company.
