Plans are being made throughout the country to celebrate Queen Elizabeth’s upcoming Platinum Jubilee marking her 70 years on the throne.
People are invited to pay tribute to the monarch over a four-day Bank Holiday weekend from Thursday, June 2 to Sunday, June 5.
Street parties will also pop up throughout every borough with communities coming together to celebrate the historic occasion.
The Labour-led council is hosting two free parties at Ravenscourt Park, Hammersmith and Bishops Park, Fulham on Saturday, June 4 from noon to 10pm.
The events will feature musicians, dancers, food trucks and games. The Derby and Buckingham Palace’s evening concert will also be shown on huge screens at both parks.
There will also be two giant picnics at Ravenscourt Park and Bishops Park on Saturday, June 5 from noon to 6pm. The council will give out some tables on a first-come, first-served basis but revellers are encouraged to bring their own chairs or picnic blankets.
