Thug assaults member of public who tried to stop him stealing from shop

Thugs assaulted a man kicking his teeth out after he tried to stop them from nicking drink from a shop.

Police were called at 8pm on November 5, 2017 to reports of an attack on Brigstock Road, Thornton Heath.

The police have now released images of a suspect they would like to speak to.

The victim, a 53-year-old man, told officers that the suspect and another person had walked into the shop, picked up bottles of alcohol and walked out without paying.

The victim followed the men and took the alcohol back.

The suspect then assaulted the victim by punching him, knocking him to the floor, and then kicking him in the face – causing the victim to lose two teeth.

A witness, who was already in the store, pushed the two men out and called paramedics who took the victim to a south London hospital.

The suspect police have released an image of is described as a white male, over 6ft tall and of medium build. He was wearing a grey jumper and has short dark hair.

Anyone who recognises the man in the image asked to call 101 and quote 7332/5Nov17 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
