Crystal Palace quartet sign new contracts until summer of 2023

Crystal Palace have confirmed that Jordan Ayew, James McArthur, James Tomkins and Nathaniel Clyne have all extended their contracts until the summer of 2023.

Eagles chairman Steve Parish told the club’s official website: “It remains of pivotal importance to get the right balance of youth and experience in any Premier League squad, and I’m delighted that we’ve been able to ensure that these long-standing and experienced players in Jordan, Nathaniel, James and James remain with us for the upcoming campaign.

“Each of them played an enormous role in the progress we’ve all enjoyed in the last year, and we very much expect similar contributions for the season ahead.”

Scottish midfielder McArthur is just one appearance away from clocking up 250 matches for the SE25 outfit.

Right-back Clyne, who came through the club’s academy system before spells with Southampton and Liverpool, is on 171 appearances.

Ayew has featured 131 times with centre-back Tomkins, a £10million addition from West Ham in 2016, seeing his stay disrupted by injury issues and appearing 124 times.

Palace are still in negotiations with Cheikhou Kouyate, who is due to be a free agent at the end of the month.
