Police make second arrest after fatal road collision
Detectives investigating a fatal collision have made a second arrest as they continue to appeal for witnesses and dash-cam footage.
The latest arrest – only officially made public this week – is of a 30 year-old man, who was detained on May 27 on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.
Police were called to Cheyne Walk, Chelsea at around 6.30pm on May 14, to reports of a road traffic collision involving a car and a pedestrian.
Olivia Riley, 41, and from Suffolk, was pronounced dead at the scene. It appears she had been walking her three dogs, all golden retrievers, at the time of the incident.
They also died as a result of their injuries. Officers attended with paramedics from the London Ambulance Service. The driver of the car, a 26-year-old man, was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and was taken into police custody. He has subsequently been released on bail to a date in late June.
The second man arrested was taken to a west London police station and was bailed until a date in late June. Anyone who witnessed the collision, particularly anyone who captured it on a dash-cam or other camera, should call 101, providing the reference 1500/14MAY.
