Two men are charged with attempted murder

Police have charged two men in connection with a stabbing.

Officers were called to Junction Mews, just off Edgware Road, shortly after 6.30pm on Saturday, after receiving reports of a group of people fighting with knives.

A 28-year-old man was found with stab wounds. He was treated at the scene by paramedics from London Ambulance Service before being taken to hospital, where he remains in a critical condition. Joseph Akapelwa, 26, of Healum Avenue, Southall, and Fadel Dabbous, 18, of Grendon Street, St John’s Wood, have both been charged with attempted murder.

Mr Dabbous has further been charged with possession of a bladed or pointed article. They are due to appear in custody today at Westminster Magistrates’ Court.

The hospitalised third man, aged 21, has also been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, but has not yet been named. Any witnesses can call 101, ref CAD 6533/11Jun or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
