Richard Riakporhe: I’ve got the power to demolish anyone in the cruiserweight division

Richard Riakporhe is confident the knockouts will keep coming after he needed just two rounds to take out Fabio Turchi on Saturday night.

The Walworth cruiserweight moved his record to 15-0, a savage left hook to the body dropped his Italian opponent (20-2) at Wembley Arena. Turchi’s corner jumped into the ring to call off the contest before referee Steve Gray had completed his count.

The bout was billed as an eliminator for the IBF world title held by Mairis Breidis.

Riakporhe also finished Deion Jumah with a body shot in March at the same venue.

“I’m the bodysnatcher now,” said the South Londoner. “You better protect your livers.

“I said I was going to knock him out – but with intelligence. Back in the day when I jumped in the ring I was just using brute force, hitting those guys as hard as I can. I was still getting the stoppages but my technique was way off.

“All I had to do was refine my technique and once I had that then you’re going to see me demolish these guys – because I’ve got the power to knock out everybody in the division.

“I’ve had four fights in nine months and by the time it’s a calendar year I’ll probably have had five or six. Nobody is doing it like ‘The Midnight Train’.”

Bermondsey’s Chris Kongo won the vacant WBC International Silver title with a unanimous points win over Sebastian Formella on the same BOXXER show.
