QPR defender clinches Dusseldorf transfer

QPR have confirmed the departure of Belgian centre-back Jordy de Wijs to Fortuna Dusseldorf on a permanent deal.

The 27-year-old spent the second half of last season in Germany with them, where he scored one goal in 10 appearances.

De Wijs made 21 appearances and scored one goal for the R’s over two separate stints at the club after signing from Hull City in 2021.

The former PSV defender becomes the second centre-back to leave the club this summer along with Yoann Barbet.

Moses Odubajo is leaving Rangers when his contract expires this month.  The Greenwich-born winger made 24 appearances last season after joining from Sheffield Wednesday.

He tweeted: “I’m sad to say that unfortunately my time at QPR has come to an end. From the minute I started last summer, my love for the game came back and continued throughout the season.

“I am grateful for the support everyone at QPR showed me, from the fans, to the backroom staff, to the board. I will forever appreciate it.”

New QPR manager Michael Beale has signed Kenneth Paal from PEC Zwolle on a three-year deal. His first addition was Jake Clarke-Salter from Chelsea.
