Motorcyclist killed after collision

Detectives have appealed for witnesses to a collision which ended in the death of a 28-year-old male motorcyclist.

Police were called just after 4.30pm on Tuesday following a crash involving a car and motorcycle at the junction of Mitcham Lane and Aldrington Road, Streatham.

Officers attended along with the London Ambulance Service. The motorcyclist was found with serious injuries.

Despite the efforts of emergency services, he died at the scene. His next of kin have been informed.

The driver of the car left the scene before officers arrived but then returned to the scene. He is helping police with their enquiries.

Detectives from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit have launched an investigation and are appealing for anyone who witnesses the collision, or anyone with dashcam footage to contact them on 0208 543 5157.
