Charlton Athletic manager Lee Bowyer fined £1,000 after not contesting FA misconduct charge
BY RICHARD CAWLEY
Lee Bowyer has been fined £1,000 after not contesting an FA misconduct charge.
The Charlton Athletic manager launched an angry tirade against referee James Linington after last month’s 1-0 defeat to Peterborough United.
Both Bowyer and opposite number Steve Evans were both shown yellow cards during an ill-tempered League One contest.
And the Addicks chief gave Linington both barrels in his post-match pressure conference.
An FA statement said: ”Charlton Athletic manager Lee Bowyer has been fined £1,000 after he admitted an FA misconduct charge in relation to the game against Peterborough United on 21 August 2018 and accepted the standard penalty.”
