Terell Thomas a signing option outside transfer window – defender already training with Charlton Athletic
Terell Thomas has emerged as a signing option for Charlton Athletic outside the transfer window, with the 26-year-old currently training with his former club.
The Addicks are keen to add another centre-back to their squad with Eoghan O’Connell, Ryan Inniss and Sam Lavelle the only senior ones on their books.
And Charlton manager Ben Garner told the South London Press earlier this week that Sean Clare would only be an option to play in there if he was on the right of a back three.
Rainham-born Thomas is a free agent after leaving Reading at the end of last season.
He joined the Addicks’ academy after being released by Arsenal. He did not make a senior appearance for the South Londoners before he joined Wigan in 2017, then joining AFC Wimbledon for an undisclosed fee the following summer.
After 90 appearances for the Dons he signed for Crewe at the start of the previous campaign. His deal was terminated by mutual consent at the end of January and he then penned a short-term contract with the Royals in March.
