Millwall attacker has scoring knack – it’s no surprise to see him netting for Republic of Ireland

Aiden O’Brien made a dream debut for Republic of Ireland – and his goalscoring bow sums up one of his major strengths at Millwall.
The Lions attacker netted against Poland in midweek.
And it followed Millwall vice-captain Shaun Williams tucking away a lovely finish for Ireland in their 4-1 loss at Wales last week.
Lions manager Neil Harris said: “I’m really pleased for him [O’Brien] to get his full international debut and to socre away in Poland is a great achievement.

“That’s Aiden’s strength – he is a goal threat when he plays whether he is having a quiet match or a storming on. He’s always in the box and likely to nick something. It was no surprise to see him on the end of the ball into the box . His movement and cleverness gets him that opportunity.
“It was a good result out in Poland and Shaun and Aiden will come back in a good place – full of excitement, adrenalin and enthusiasm. It’s great to have them back in the group.
“We’ve had a fantastic couple of weeks training the group – it has been spot on.”
