Dulwich Hamlet progressed in the London Senior Cup after a 5-2 win over Athletic Newham at Champion Hill on Tuesday night.

Two goals in the space of two first-half minutes put the hosts in a comfortable position with Dan Smith and Nana Owusu scoring.

Newham keeper Martin Arnauchkov saved a Smith penalty on the half-hour mark after Sanchez Ming was brought down.

Daniel Izekor bagged a brace for the visitors with Smith’s second sandwiched in between.

Owusu then collected his second goal before Ibby Akanbi was fouled in the latter stages and converted from the spot himself.

Dulwich head to Chippenham Town tomorrow in National League South.

Bromley moved into the National League play-off zone after a 3-0 victory over Maidstone United on Saturday.

Omar Sowunmi put the Ravens in front before Adam Marriott netted twice. The striker went close to a third, bending a shot narrowly wide of the upright.

Bromley manager Andy Woodman said: “There were a lot of raised eyebrows when I let a crowd favourite go, James Alabi, but hopefully Adam is showing everybody why I brought him to the football club. He scores goals and that’s all you want from a striker.

“I feel like the crowd are really buying into us now and what we are doing as a group.

“These boys have really grafted since pre-season to get these patterns and these shapes, along with putting dogged defending in place.

“People should realise what we’re achieving here without the biggest budget in the league by any stretch – but we have the biggest heart. We’ll keep going until the last moment of every match.”

Goalkeeper Reice Charles-Cook was stretchered off in the second half with defender Chris Bush, pictured above, going in goal for the final 20 minutes.

“Bushy did great and the lads protected him particularly well,” said Woodman.

“We should pinch ourselves because we’ve got a goalkeeper from Arsenal on loan in Tom Smith. He is a top goalkeeper who has been waiting patiently and training brilliantly. He’s now got to go out and grab the shirt.”
