‘On the front foot and aggressive’ – Dons boss Jackson on his side’s approach for Bradford City match

Johnnie Jackson has urged his AFC Wimbledon squad to be “on the front foot and aggressive” this Saturday against Mark Hughes’ Bradford City.

The Dons travel to Valley Parade having lost their last four League Two games in a row, only scoring one goal in those outings.

Under former Stoke and Manchester City manager Hughes, Bradford are unbeaten in their last five games in the fourth tier and have won four of their previous five fixtures.

Bradford forward Andy Cook has bagged 11 goals in all competitions this season.

The South Londoners will be without Nathan Young-Coombes, Paul Kalambayi, Nathan Broome and Alex Woodyard. Paul Osew is also a doubt after being forced off after 24 minutes in the 3-2 EFL Trophy win over Crawley Town on Tuesday night.

“We have got to go there, and we have got to be positive, on the front foot and aggressive,” Jackson told the South London Press.

“We don’t take any of our opponents lightly, but we also feel as though we’re capable of causing anyone problems if we get it right on our day.

“They’re in good form, at home, and it’s a tough place to go. Results-wise, we haven’t been in the best of form, but we will be going there to take the game to them and to bring the points home.

“That’s the nature of the way I want my team to play, and I know the boys feel the same.

“No-one likes losing games. No-one hurts more than me and the players when we’re getting beaten.

“They’re feeling it, but all you can do is approach the game in the right way, with the right frame of mind and be positive.”
