Dropped winger is back in Charlton manager’s thoughts for Barnsley encounter

Charlton Athletic winger Charlie Kirk will be back in their matchday squad for tomorrow’s League One game at Barnsley.

The former Crewe attacker had been dropped for the last two matches, not even making the bench for the draws against Forest Green Rovers and Fleetwood.

But Kirk, 24, is back in the selection picture.

Charlton boss Ben Garner told the South London Press: “I really like Charlie – as a player and as a character. He’s a great character around the place and he’s got wonderful ability. I just want to see him maximise that and make sure he is giving everything every day – for himself and for the group.

“He has responded superbly well and he will in the squad travelling to Barnsley today.

“I want to see him chomping at the bit to try and get back in the team and prove what a talent he is.”

Kirk has one goal and two assists in nine appearances in all competitions this season.
