Dons players and TV presenter attending Fun Day & Minithon

AFC Wimbledon players and a TV presenter will be attending a club event on Sunday with supporters welcome to join in the fun.

First-team squad members will be present at the Dons’ Fun Day & Minithon and there will be a star turn from television providing a helping hand.

Lucy Alexander,  best known for her appearances in the BBC’s Homes Under the Hammer, will be drawing the winning names in the raffle, which will raise funds for the club’s academy and foundation.

Academy manager Jeremy Sauer said: “Lucy’s son Leo is with our academy and she is a humble person who is always eager to help the club out. Lucy has been great and we are delighted to have her along.”

Lucy is married to former Dons player Stewart Castledine.

As well as staging the annual 5km Minithon starting at 11am, at the New Malden training complex, the club are aiming to stage a community event for people of all ages that everyone connected with the club can be proud of. Young Dons are welcome to come along and meet first-team players and staff and there will be a wide range of events staged on the day.

The range of activities will include the following:

• 1km Family Fun Run (starting at 10.30 am)

• Coaching clinics

• Penalty shoot outs

• Meet first-team players

• Food and refreshments

• Face painting

• 5km Minithon (starting at 11.00 am)

• Club merchandise and raffle

The event takes places between 10.00 am and 12.30 pm at the following address: KCL Sports Ground, Windsor Ave, New Malden, KT3 5HA.

Optional entry for 1k and all kids activities – £5 for children (U14)

Optional entry for 5k Minithon – £5 U18, £10 adults.
