Exclusive: Palace close to agreeing new deal for striker – and want young trio to sign long-term contracts

Crystal Palace are close to agreeing a contract extension with Jordan Ayew that will keep the attacker in SE25 until the end of June 2024.

The Ghanaian international’s deal was due to be up at the end of the 2021-22 season but the Eagles activated an option to extend his stay until the summer of 2023.

Now Ayew, who initially joined Palace on loan from Swansea in 2018, is set to end any uncertainty over his long-term future with a fresh agreement looking promising.

The Marseille-born 31-year-old has scored 15 goals in 146 appearances for Palace.

Ayew has started nine of their opening 12 Premier League fixtures this season.

Palace are also looking to tie down a highly-rated trio of 18-year-olds – England U19 international keeper Joe Whitworth, fellow stopper Owen Goodman and Jack Wells-Morrison – to long-term contracts.
