The three best pantos showing in South London this winter

It’s almost that time of year again. “Oh no it isn’t”.

Oh yes it is and here are three of the best pantomimes showing right here in South London.

The Return of Captain Hook at Fairfield Halls

EastEnders fans will be excited to see Ricky Champ, who plays Stuart Highway, as Captain Hook in The Further Adventures of Peter Pan – The Return of Captain Hook at Fairfield Halls in Croydon.

Catch up with the antics of Peter, Hook and Tinkerbell in Neverland. Expect fearsome flying effects, an acrobatic pirate crew and a ferocious crocodile, as they bring some good old fashioned fun to the festive season.

And it’s something of a homecoming for a few of the cast and production team, who hail from South London.

Channel 5 Milkshake presenter and Greenwich local, David Ribi, plays Peter Pan, with director Sarah Redmond, also from the right side of the river. The cast also includes TV presenter Gemma Hunt, as Tinkerbell, and Crackerjack’s David Rhodes as Smee.

This swashbuckling and classical tale headlines at Fairfield Halls, Croydon, from December 10-31. Tickets are on sale, start at ÂŁ20 and are available to book at: www.fairfield.co.uk/events/peter-pan-panto#dates-and-times

Snow White & The Seven Dwarfs at New Wimbledon Theatre

Mirror Mirror on the wall, who’s the fairest of them all? That’s the question being asked at New Wimbledon Theatre this Christmas when Snow White & the Seven Dwarfs opens next month.

With West End royalty Ruthie Henshall leading a star-studded cast as the Wicked Queen, she is joined by actress, singer and Loose Women regular Brenda Edwards as the Fairy Godmother, musical theatre star Lee Mead as The Prince, Matthew Kelly as The Dresser, TV duo Dick & Dom and Britain’s Got Talent semi-finalist, John Archer.

Running from December 3-31, tickets start from ÂŁ13 and are subject to a ÂŁ3.80 booking fee. www.atgtickets.com/shows/snow-white-and-the-seven-dwarfs/new-wimbledon-theatre/

Beauty & The Beast at Stanley Arts London

Local theatre is alive and well in South Norwood with Beauty & The Beast coming to Stanley Arts London.

Leading the cast is talented local actress Danielle Springer, as well as Jack Benjamin, comedians Kayleigh Jones and Carly Smallman, and the kids from Cherry Stars Performing Arts.

Go along to this family-friendly performance that’s full of the usual silly pantomime gags, ready to take the audience along for the ride. Tickets start from £10. www.stanleyarts.org/event/sleeping-beauty-2/2022-12-17/3/
