QPR skipper Stef Johansen: We can’t dwell on Mick Beale departure

QPR captain Stefan Johansen has given his verdict on Mick Beale quitting the club.

Beale chose to join Rangers at the start of the week with the west Londoners now in the process of appointing a new boss.

Johansen told QPR’s website: “I wish him all the best but we can’t dwell on that now. The club will move forward and that is what we are looking to do as players.

“He did a great job in the time he was here. I know from speaking with him that it wasn’t an easy decision for him to leave us, and there were family reasons too.

“But managers leaving is part of football and each player has a responsibility now to move forward and to continue doing what we are doing.

“The facts are we in a great position in the league.

“As players, we had a meeting and had a good chat. Everyone has agreed that Paul Hall [caretaker manager] has come in and is doing a great job already.

“Even though the manager has left there is an excitement here. Recent results haven’t been great but there is a real hunger to turn that around.”
