Millwall injury news ahead of Bristol City match at The Den
Gary Rowett is expecting to have a fully fit Millwall squad inside the next two weeks.
The Lions are back in action at home against Bristol City tomorrow.
Callum Styles (calf) looks set to be back available to the Millwall boss for the club’s final action of 2022.
The Barnsley loanee picked up the problem against Sunderland at the start of the month.
Striker Benik Afobe was back on the bench for the 2-0 win at Watford on Boxing Day.
“We are probably a week to 10 days away from having a clean bill of health,” Rowett told the South London Press. “And we know that then causes me some nice problems.
“We could’ve easily used Benik in the closing stages [of the Watford match] but I just felt as though it was early for him to be on the bench and I didn’t want to take that risk if it wasn’t necessary. He’ll have a few more training days to get up to speed, which will do him a lot of good – even though he would’ve been desperate to get on at the weekend.
“Stylesy should be back available, that will be a positive. He’s been training and we’ve been holding him back.
“Scottie [Malone] is still unwell but did a little bit of light training yesterday. Probably not in a position to join in yet.
“Lenny is training but, again, bit of caution with him – just because he needs a bit more training exposure.
“Benno is making good progress but ended up with a little calf strain from training on the hard pitches. That’s ruled him out for two or three games. I’d imagine the FA Cup game he would be back available, maybe before but we’re quite close to the game.”
