Former Dons forward reportedly set for League One loan move

Former AFC Wimbledon forward Aaron Pressley is reportedly set to join League One side Accrington Stanley on loan for the rest of the season from Brentford

Football Insider are reporting that Pressley has already agreed to join John Coleman, who sit 20th in the League One table after their 4-0 loss to Derby County last time out.

Pressley spent last season on loan at Plough Lane, featuring 27 times in all competitions and scoring four goals.

The Scottish U21 forward suffered a hamstring injury during his loan spell under Mark Robinson and failed to play for the club again after his 19-minute cameo towards the end of February against Doncaster.

Pressley, who is out of contract with the Bees at the end of the season, but they do have the option to extend his stay by a further year, has two appearances for Brentford in the Championship to his name.

Pressley told our paper when he first signed for the Dons on loan: “If I want to be a top player, I am going to have to come in and do it. That’s how it is in football – you have to come in and thrive off it.

“I’d like to hope that’s why Robbo has brought me in. I’m 19, and I will be learning on the job, but I think I have got what it takes.

“I want to look back when I retire, even if I haven’t had a good career, and say that I couldn’t have given any more to the game for the years I was playing.”
