Charlton Athletic set to sell out allocation for Man United EFL Cup clash

Charlton Athletic are set to sell out the full allocation for their EFL quarter-final clash away at Manchester United.

The Addicks have been given a total of 7,403 tickets for the trip to Old Trafford, with more than 6,000 already being snapped up by fans.

The remaining tickets went on general sale today at 2pm.

Charlton – under then caretaker boss Anthony Hayes – beat Premier League side Brighton & Hove Albion on penalties to reach this stage of the competition for the first time since 2006.

Erik ten Hag’s Manchester United side beat Vincent Kompany’s Burnley 2-0 in the last round.

The last time these two sides faced each other was in February 2007, with goals from Park Ji-Sung and Darren Fletcher handing Sir Alex Ferguson’s United side the win.

It now looks highly likely that the last-eight clash at Old Trafford will see a packed-out away end.

The game has not been selected for television coverage.

The club have received an additional 2,005 tickets for Tuesday’s cup tie since this story went live.
